Skiviez is both a men’s underwear brand and at the same time a full-on online store carrying numerous of the best niche and mainstream brands.
Today I will review the brand new Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut. If you wanna skip to the actual review, simply scroll down.
Skiviez Men’s Underwear is back!
It’s been a few years since Skiviez introduced a new line of underwear, but now the wait is over! Skiviez Boast is the name of the new line of underwear from Skiviez that’s designed with a larger pouch that accentuates the look of your package.
The profile-enhancing pouch design is constructed to allow movement while still giving support. The lightweight design makes it perfect for sports or hot nights out on the town.
Now, it may be marketing stunt, but for some reason Skiviez is only offering a limited stock, which is available until April 1, 2010.
That said, lets get on with the review of the Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut.
The Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut is an interesting men’s underwear style, ranging somewhere between a classic trunk and a pair of low-rise briefs. This pair feels more like a classic brief design but with comfortably long hip coverage. This feature means that your entire backside is nicely covered as well. Remember, this is important if you want to wear your underwear an entire day and need it to stay put.
The “low-rise’ness” of the brief is just right for my taste. The square cut doesn’t ride too low around your waist, which means that your crack won’t show its embarrassing face. The Boast Square Cut rests nicely on your hips, which can be quite forgiving if you’re a man with a hint of love handles. High rising underwear can sometimes carve into those handles and give a very unfortunate profile.
Luckily, the Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut won’t do that.
The pouch design of this square cut is really the key feature, as it is clearly made for enhancing the profile of your package. Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut comes with a lot of extra room, and it will work for most men – not just the well-endowed.
That said, you need to be brutally honest with yourself before buying this style – if you are below average in terms of package size you will be “swimming” in extra room, and rather than enhance your profile this pouch design might have the opposite effect. In that situation, you’re better off with a traditional pair of underwear.
I noticed that the pouch design didn’t feel tight or uncomfortable to wear for an entire day as some profile-enhancing men’s underwear tends to do due to the use of straps, rings, etc. This contoured pouch provides just enough lifting and support to accentuate your package without you ever noticing that you’re wearing profile-enhancing underwear.
As mentioned in the Style section, the back design well-proportioned to cover the entire area of your buttocks. Most men will feel that the leg openings follow the contours of the buttocks just perfectly, riding neither too low on the thigh or too high on the buttocks.
The Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut comes with a 1,4″ light gray soft-feeling waistband with the Skiviez brand name imprinted in a dark gray font. The waistband is just wide enough to hold the square cut nicely in place on your hip.
The waistband has a Skiviez logo patch as well a separate production information patch stitched on the inside rear of the square cut. The stitching is done so that you won’t notice it, and the product information patch can easily be cut off.
The Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut is made from a nice-quality 95/5% cotton/spandex blend. This means that the underwear will feel soft to wear and have enough stretch to fit properly.
I wore the white version, but the Skiviez Boast collection also comes in a dark blue/white contrast. The fabric isn’t too delicate which is a plus if you go for the white square cut as it can be bleached to keep its true white shade.
Personally, I would go for the blue/white version simply because it’ll have you looking more colorful and interesting when wearing just your underwear.
I wore a US size M for a 32″ waist, and the square cut fit just fine. No need to size up or down.
It’s always nice to have a positive experience with low priced underwear, and the Skiviez Boast Low Rise Square Cut is a bargain at just $14,50. As this is a new product, the long-term durability remains to be evaluated. But at this price, who cares, when you can get two pair for the price of one similar premium brand style.
