Even more world cup soccer players turned underwear models!

So, the soccer world cup still rages on in South Africa.

On the sidelines, the soccer players’ underwear frequently becomes the center attention. As it should be. Ha!

First and foremost, there was the infamous and extremely buzzed about Vanity Fair photo shoot which had numerous footballers, including Portuguese Christiano Ronaldo, strip to their flag-themed boxer briefs.

And Christiano Ronaldo never seems to miss an opportunity to show off his underwear. Just last week Armani released some brand new underwear ads featuring the famed star.

And who could have missed the release of Dolce & Gabbana’s Calcio underwear collection. Who did they choose for underwear models? Of course, some of Italy’s greatest national soccer stars.

Oh, and by the way. D&G just released a new behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot. If you’re into athletes in fashionable briefs, check out the video.

But the fun doesn’t end there, my friends. Apparently, the national English soccer team had their underwear stolen while staying at a South African hotel! I wonder what kind and brand of underwear the English chaps are wearing…

And finally, we come back to the point of the blog title. Via a recent post by underwear blog, Brief Lines, it came to my attention that Argentinian soccer super star, Linoel Messi, acts as official underwear model for the brand, Lody – and has been for several years! Who knew :)

I’m not sure that he’s got the same underwear star power as nearly-pros Ronaldo and Beckham. But any attempt to promote quality underwear must be applauded.
