Today we introduce you to a new underwear brand that we have yet to cover here at Guys’ Underwear Blog: Activeman. The brand was recently introduced over at Jockstrap Central – and it caught out interest.
Activeman is best known for it’s affordable traditional jockstraps. But it actually offers a much wider selection.
Now, if you wanna skip to the hot picture set, simply scroll down and enjoy the looks of male underwear model, Draven Torres. Don’t you just love those tattoos?
Take their Liberty Trunk, for instance. It is constructed of one of our favorite fabrics: Modal. Modal is a processed bio-based textile made from the beech tree. In many ways, a modal acts like cotton but with the advantages of rayon. It’s soft, smooth and breathes well. It is cool to the touch and very absorbent with a resistance to shrinkage. Modal is also less likely to fade or to form pills as a result of friction and stays soft through repeated washings. Of course, our favorite feature of modal is simply it’s stretchability and it’s nature to expand adapting to anything that may pop up!
The Activeman Sports Brief is constructed of a sturdy but stretchy cotton with a touch of Elastane. The fully formed and roomy ergonomic 3d pouch ensures the utmost in comfort for a guy. And though it has no lift functionality per say, the pictures below don’t lie: This underwear will make the most of your bulge.
As for price, Activeman is extremely affordable. The Liberty Trunk is only $14.95 and comes in both white and black. The Sports Brief is only $12.95 and comes in black, white and grey. If you’re looking for the perfect everyday underwear that’s totally affordable, stylish, comfortable and built to last then we think we’ve found it for you with the newly launched Activeman Underwear now at Jockstrap Central.
Today I am reviewing a completely new brand, Skivvies!
Actually, the brand is a spin-off adventure by one of the largest online men’s underwear stores, Skivviesmensunderwear.com.
The announcement of the new Skivvies underwear range had us all pretty excited here at GUB.
Why? Well, the online underwear retailers get their hands on more underwear from more brands than most avid undies fans like you and I. So I’m thinking, they must know have the best hands-on knowledge of what great underwear should look like, feel like, and cost.
About a month ago the new range was released and included a number of different trunk and brief cuts, most of which were in the bulge-enhancing category.
Smart move, because from what we hear, this category is by far the fastest-growing category in the underwear business. Recession may be upon us, but guys around the globe will apparently prioritize an impressive bulge over all else.
Naturally, we approve of this development, LOL.
Anyway, I was fortunate enough to get a sample of the Skivvies ManPower Enhancement Pouch Trunk for a review here on the blog.
It’s what I would call an aggressive bulge-enhancer suitable for everyday wear. And I don’t mean aggressive in any negative way. I’m simply referring to the technology employed to lift your package up and out. A technology that in no way disappoints.
Skivvies makes use of an elastic pocket-type container into which you fit your penis and balls – much like profile-enhancing undies from major brands like aussieBum and Andrew Christian.
Skivvies’ approach to adding lift is very effective and will have men of all “sizes” appear like well-endowed Adonises below the waist.
I was happy to notice that this lift feature, as well as the overall feel of the trunk, was surprisingly comfortable, which in no small way is probably due to the soft and stretchy 93% Polyester, 7% Spandex fabric mix.
The fabric and production quality is fine, and I would recommend that you follow the washing instruction (cold wash only) to preserve stretch, fit, and color the longest.
Overall, this is a very nice and satisfactory pair of underwear with amazing lift capabilities.
The Skivvies ManPower Enhancement Pouch Trunk indeed makes for a promising start for the Skivvies brand.
See my final grade and more details – including where to buy it – in the review box below the pictures.
|Style and look?||The Skivvies ManPower Enhancement Pouch Trunk has the look of a traditional low-rise trunk but with a few distinct details. One, obviously, is the massive bulge you’ll be sporting and which is framed very visibly by color-contrasting stitching. Another key feature is the center seam in the back which helps accentuate your buttocks.|
|Suitable for?||The trunk can easily be worn for everyday activities due to the stretchy fabrics and non-chafing pouch pocket. Most men would probably save bulge-enhancing underwear like this for festive occasions where you want to make an impression, for instance underneath a tight pair of jeans. That is one hot look!|
|Fit and quality?||The fit was absolutely fine. Besides proper sizing (a size M for my 32/33 inch waist was a perfect match), naturally the Polyester/Spandex mix makes for a very forgiving and adaptive fabric mix. The production and fabric quality seem fine for a mid-range product like this.|
|Is the price right?||Skivvies ManPower Enhancement Pouch Trunk is $28 USD. This is fair price for a mid-range product. This is bulge-enhancing underwear that everyone can afford.|
|Best thing about it?||The well-mastered pouch pocket that gets lift job done in comfortable and impressive manner.|
A well-deserved four star grade puts the ManPower Enhancement Pouch Trunk in class with many huge brands that have been in the enhancement business for ages. Skivvies has done well with its first range of profile-enhancing undies, and we can’t wait to see what the Skivvies team comes up with next.
HAPPY Martin Luther King Day weekend! It’s a time to remember the struggles, fights and sacrifices that have been made to gain the rights and freedoms we have today.
Remember there was a time when men did not have the freedom to wear underwear that had style or personality to it.
We’ve escaped that rigid gender role and created a whole new definition to masculinity. Before we celebrate let’s look at what’s been happening this week.
UPDATE: Virginia Airport Underwear Stripper
Apparently all charges have been dropped against Aaron B Tobey the 21 year old college student who stripped to his underwear to protest the new high security measures. YES! Maybe more college men will begin to do this. For more information see last week’s weekly review.
Underwear for Flood Victims
Australian entrepreneur and CEO of Sly Underwear, Dan Murray, has donated $37,000 worth of underwear to the victims of the devastating flood that has hit Queensland Australia. Thousands of people have been evacuated and have lost everything they own so this is a much needed help. Let’s hope more businesses can follow his example of generosity. Remember that is Sly Underwear and the beautiful man (pictured above) running the company!
Catholic guys in Underwear
The Bishop of Mallorca is not too happy with his local Catholic Youth Group who have decided to raise money by selling an underwear calendar in which they pose almost nude. The Bishop said it “does not represent Christian symbols and is insensitive to Catholic feelings”. The calendar marks the 20th anniversary of the Davallament Youth Association who need the money to put on their annual Passion of the Christ and want this year to be special.
“Bad Underwear Day”
According to a survey published by USA Today a woman’s mood can be affected by the underwear she has on that day. In effect she can have a “bad underwear day“, just like a “bad hair day”. So what about men? Although the article doesn’t deal with us I would have to say our underwear definitely will have an effect on our mood. The question is if your underwear is bringing you down, why are you keeping them up? Get happy mood undies!
Andrew Christian has just released a new pair of underwear that has inner pocket where you can insert a cup like mold of a penises silhouette. They claim it will help you look 2 inches larger. I love Andrew Christian and I’m all for men looking their best but I have not decided what to say about this. However if it’s what you’ve been looking for, rock that fake package!
Lingerie Beats Out Boxers
In Muzaffarpur, India Shekhar Bhagwat’s manufacturing plant has decided that it’s more profitable to produce women’s lingerie than men’s underwear. He said “men’s underwear? Why bother with the headache? I would need thousands of employees and hundreds of customers before I would make a single rupee”. Of course he was talking about no frill mundane men’s underwear. He should take our demographic into consideration.
Rafa Nadals Wedgie
So tennis star and, more importantly, Armani’s new front underwear model seems to have a lot riding up his bum. After almost every set he has to pick out his wedgie! Maybe that’s why he was so appealing to Armani. However it’s become a question: is it habit or does he need better fitting underwear? I’m sure Giorgio will get him hooked up with plenty perfectly fitting underwear soon if it’s the latter.
The Week in Underwear Crime:
First off, I am really tired of this whole Underbomber thing, now they’re saying he could never have succeeded in his plan anyway. Enough already! Anyway, we have other fun stories to tell you about.
The Mink Muff
I know this doesn’t involve a man but I found this crazy. A woman in Bloomington Minnesota was arrested for stealing a mink coat. However police could not find the coat and were told it had already been sold. The woman was in jail for three days when she finally showed them where the coat was. She lifted her dress and pulled the coat out of her underwear. It was hidden in her panties for 3 days! How big were them panties? And who would wear that coat now? EEW!
PICTURE OF THE WEEK:
I was going to post one of the mink coat in panties but started to feel nauseous. So instead I have chosen a great picture form the Sly Underwear collection. This picture highlights the fun and creative styles offered by sly and the beauty their company brings. Thank you again for your generosity, Dan.
