Over the years we have asked the followers of GuysUnderwearBlog.com to take part in a string of revealing polls about men and their underwear habits. Thousands of men have shared their preferences on anything from their favorite style of underwear to who actually buys their undies for them.

Put together, these and other fascinating men’s underwear statistics provide us with an interesting – and sometimes surprising – picture of the relationship between men and their skivvies.

The picture that emerges shows that men may be much more diverse in their underwear choices than you might think…

We tend to think that when it comes to men it’s usually a question of boxers or briefs. But did you know that after polling 3,800 men, we found that 24 % of the respondents actually wore thongs, jockstraps, or simply went commando?

Another common myth is that men are too lazy to shop for their own underwear… Not true, according to our polls. 88% said that they purchase their underwear all on their own. And when they do, half of them re-stock their top drawer with undies bought online. That’s right, only half of all the men said they buy their underwear in a brick store.

And with summer right around the corner, only 24 % of the men who participated in our poll will wear board shorts. The vast majority (63 %) of the trend-setting followers of our humble blog will be wearing either speedo-type swim briefs or tight swim trunks.
