Today I get to introduce something edgy and fun to you. Smuggling Duds is the British designer of Stash Pants – boxer briefs with unique patterns and a useful stash pocket. This brand focuses on guys with attitude; their underwear is worn by DJs as well as athletes from mixed martial arts to skateboarders and Motocross. And although they offer several attention-grabbing patterns, Stash Pants are also available in solid colors.
The stash pocket is a pretty useful component of the boxer briefs. It’s located just to the left of the button fly and sized so that it can accommodate money, credit cards, condoms or keys. Sure it would come in handy at an underwear party, but it’s even more useful when you want to be absolutely sure that no one can pickpocket you. So now that Stash Pants have been invented I hope that no one will ever need to buy a fanny pack (or something similar) to store their money when they’re on holiday/vacation.
So what are they like to wear? Well, the fabric is 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so they offer the comfort of cotton and a little stretch. They’re somewhat roomy, so if you like something form-fitting (as I do), then order a size smaller than you normally would.
I usually don’t wear eye-catching patterns, so I’m going to get more use out of the solid color (black, white, gray, red, orange) boxer briefs, but I think their unique patterns, which include Samurai, Star Spangled and Union Jack, are pretty cool and definitely make a statement. In addition to the pocket and patterns, some of the other distinctive features include a 2-button fly and a waistband with the SD logo.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with these and will definitely wear them.
|Style and look?||Boxer briefs with unique patters (and also solids) and a useful pocket.|
|Suitable for?||Suitable for everyday wear, from the office to the gym. When you want to be noticed, wear one of their patterns.|
|Fit and quality?||The fit is roomy, so if you want something more form-fitting order one size smaller. The fabric and construction are of good quality.|
|Is the price right?||They’re appropriately priced. They’re normally £18 to £20, but as of the day I’m writing this, their solid colors are on sale for £7.50.|
|Best thing about it?||I need to list two things here…the stash pocket and the cool patterns.|

Actually, this underwear collection from UK-based Smuggling Duds isn’t new. It debuted last year to celebrate the Olympics in London.
But we are in the mood for some funky boxer briefs, and Smuggling Duds is all about colorful underwear with a bit of leg ;o)
We didn’t cover it back the, but we will rectify that right now with a post full of pictures from the range of boxer briefs that includes the UK inspired Union Jack boxer shorts, Japanese inspired Samurai boxer shorts, Brazil inspired Brazilian boxer shorts and a Star Spangled boxer short design for the USA.
For your info, each pair is around $30 USD. Get them over at www.smugglingduds.com.
Skilled men’s underwear photographer, John Mitchel, recently did a photo shoot featuring tough-ass, super fit bodybuilder-slash-male-underwear-model, John Quinlan.
Seriously, this John Quinlan looks like he should be an action flick or something. He’s got one mean Bruce Willis (only fitter) look going on. It even looks a bit awkward when he smiles, haha. When it comes down to it, though, who wouldn’t want a body like that, hehe.

Merry Christmas, Guys!
My gift for you today is a review of a brand new label I haven’t tried before! Exiting, huh?
Oh, and it’s a pair of boxer briefs – a quite refreshing detour from my otherwise narrow path of briefs.
The product in question is the Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts (i.e. boxer briefs). Not sure why they call them boxer shorts…
UK-based Smuggling Duds bring many interesting designs features to the table. Or back to the table, I should say.
One thing is the buttoned fly. It’s been a pleasure revisiting this classic pouch feature.
Overall, the Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts has been a pleasant acquaintanceship.
Check out my review and overall grade below the pics.
And guys – happy holidays!!
|Style and look||Just to reiterate my point from the introduction. Obviously, the Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts are in fact a classic pair of boxer briefs, or tights as they are also know.
Boxer briefs are always a safe and youthful choice of underwear. It’s probably the most preferred cut by men under 25 these days.
When a cut becomes super popular and mainstream it is usually in danger of becoming boring and plain. So make sure to always go for interesting colors or patterns.
What I like about the Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts is the fact that the design team has chosen a fully functional buttoned pouch design, which gives this boxer brief a touch of vintage class.
Also, the designers have added a clever little pocket on the front of the boxer brief to fit small items in, like an iPod Nano or perhaps a condom. This is a fun design addition and something that I’ve seen several brands do over the last seasons.
|Suitable for?||Made from a standard 90 % cotton / 5 % Elastane fabric blend there are no unexpected surprises when wearing the Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts.
They are a great choice for all kinds of everyday purposes, exept sports activites.
|Fit and quality?||The fit was just fine. Neither the waistband nor the legs felt too tight and provided adequate support. I wore a size M for a 32 / 33 inch waist.
There is a product information patch stitched to the inside rear of the waistband. It didn’t bother me too much, but after a few wears I did choose to cut it off, which was no hassle at all.
|Is the price right?||The Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts can be ordered directly from the brand’s own web shop and it will set you back around US $28.
This is a slightly premium price tag but that’s just the way things are if you want to stand out and wear imported, European underwear.
|Best thing about it?||The buttoned pouch and the cool little pocket are what makes this boxer brief stand out from the horde of competing brands and styles out there. I actually used the pocket for my new tiny iPod Nano when cleaning the house the other day. Practical, indeed :)
|Overall grade||★ ★ ★ ★
Smuggling Duds has managed to do something innovative with the mainstream boxer brief cut – and that deserves proper credit.
The Smuggling Duds Boxer Shorts is a bit pricey, but if you want European fabulousness you gotta shell out the cash.

Boxer briefs – it’s been to long!
So I was happy when I came into contact with the guys over at UK-based Smuggling Duds.
Smuggling Duds is a men’s underwear brand that’s all about boxer briefs based on a modern cut with a wide waistband, splashy color designs, and a practical pocket to fit your iPod or condoms in.
All these modern features are combined with and a classic buttoned fly – a detail I haven’t seen in ages.
And there’s something about that buttoned fly… Could it make a comeback as a mainstream feature on boxer briefs across the industry?
Anyway, there’s no denying it, boxer briefs are in a constant battle with the regular brief when it comes to being the most popular mainstream men’s underwear cut.
Often, boxer briefs are a more forgiving cut than the regular brief. But be careful that it doesn’t get boring. Go for interesting colors, design patterns, or funky details to spice up your look.
Smuggling Duds could be a fine place to start judging from these photos.
FYI, one pair of Smuggling Duds boxer briefs is about US $28.
