I love the way that pretty much all Olaf Benz underwear looks. Olaf Benz briefs hug the body, are cut low and feature distinctly flattering back coverage that I have not seen anywhere else. The RED 1365 Neo Brief exhibits all of those features, as well as soft, synthetic fabric with a unique metallic finish, color-blocked styling and high-cut leg openings. Although the look is a little bold, it’s not obnoxious or flashy. The brief is made of a combination of 90% polyamide/10% elastane that feels good against the skin.
The only criticism that I have is that the pouch felt a little small. Given the body-hugging stretch of the fabric, the front was slightly tight, even though the brief otherwise fit like a glove. Overall, the RED 1365 brief is probably my favorite of all of the styles that I tried this year.
|Style and look?||Low cut brief featuring flattering back coverage and a distinct sheen.|
|Suitable for?||The brief would be comfortable in most environments – but it is definitely a good choice for a date night.|
|Fit and quality?||Low-cut with a comfortable pouch; good quality viscose/polyester/elastane blend.|
|Is the price right?||$22.90 which seems reasonable given the fabric and styling.|
|Best thing about it?||These feel great to touch.|

Not familiar with Olaf Benz? Well, now that this high-end, German brand of underwear is available in the U.S., you should expect to hear more about them. Fortunately, the folks over at www.underwearstation.com were kind enough to send over a sample, so I’m now able to write my first review about one of their products.
Olaf Benz has a wide range of underwear, but for this review I wore a pair of trunks they call “minipants”, which are available in red, black and white. The first things I noticed when I took them out of the cardboard box were how light and soft they are. Reminiscent of silk, the fabric is actually an ultra-thin mix of polyamide and elastane that provides stretch and durability.
So then I tried them on and experienced a wow moment. Providing an incredible amount of comfort along with an equal amount of sex appeal, I was immediately impressed with them. The material is able to comfortably hug all your curves and because it’s so thin; it’s slightly transparent, which I liked. To me, the combination of a silk-like fabric and a fairly conservative (trunk style) cut offers a sophisticated form of sex appeal.
Other features of the underwear include a pouch that provides added comfort, a very thin waistband and a brand name tag on the upper left side of the front that is quite subtle. All in all, I liked the look and feel of the product and I felt sexy wearing them. I’ll wear these to work and on dates, but because of the slightly transparent fabric, I’m probably too shy to be seen changing in and out of these at the gym.
|Style and look?||They offer sophisticated sex appeal due to the ultra-thin, silk-like material and trunk cut.|
|Suitable for?||These are a great choice for dates because you’ll look and feel sexy. They’re also fine for work and every day wear because of their comfort.|
|Fit and quality?||The underwear comfortably hugs all of your curves and is crafted with quality construction.|
|Is the price right?||At $54.50, they’re priced at the high end. But luxury products tend to carry luxury prices.|
|Best thing about it?||The ultra-thin and ultra-comfortable material.|

The good folks over at UnderwearStation are close friends of ours here at Guy’s Underwear Blog. If you don’t know them, it’s the company that distributes well-known men’s underwear brands such as Intymen and Good Devil.
Anyway, Jeff, our newest contributor here at GUB, will soon have the pleasure of trying out some of these brand’s latest collections – and you guys will get all the details in his reviews.
As a small teaser, I thought I’d share a few pics featuring some of this exciting new underwear.
Enjoy guys – and have a great Sunday!
Straight out of Germany, Europe, comes well-known men’s underwear brand, Olaf Benz.
Although not a stranger to most fans of men’s underwear, Olaf Benz has actually not been very present on the North American market during the last 10 years. But now that wait is over!
Olaf Benz is in the upper end as far as quality and the pricing for wholesale is around $21 for a brief, $20 for a thong and $24 for a boxer.
Until the brand launches at these stores, check out their own site over at www.olafbenz.com. Their selection is HUGE.
And on a side note, their style selector in the left column of the web store is probably one of the best ones we’ve ever dealt with. We like it when online stores pay attention to bringing consumers the best user experience possible.
Anyway, here’s a few Christmas-y Olaf Benz pic for you guys. Have a great weekend!
