Archive for the ‘Nils Bohner’ Category
Last week Jeff reviewed a number of items from the Nils Bohner men’s underwear collection. And he liked what he saw (and wore!).
We wanted to dig up some more inspiring photos featuring this up-and-coming German underwear brand. Who knows, before we know it they could be the new AUDI brand of the underwear fashion industry.
The pictures feature a bunch of cuts which will satisfy fans of trunks/briefs/square cuts, and indeed everyone who loves a proper pair of low-rise underwear.
I think we’ve mentioned this before, but there’s something quite stylish about the mythologically-looking waistbands. They seem to be inspired by Greek frieze art. We truly appreciate subtle artistic references like that in men’s underwear.
Nils Bohner (love that name) sell for about $26-$33 USD and you can get a fair selection over at the German web shop www.underwear-city.de.
Enjoy the pics.
I love it when I try something on and it fits really well. That’s exactly what I experienced recently when I tried on two pair of underwear from Nils Bohner. Never heard of Nils Bohner? He’s a German designer who aptly uses the following slogan for his company: “Mediocrity is not our standard.”
According to Nils Bohner’s website, the two pair I tried are from the FRESH Basic and FRESH CULT Basic collections (even though some other websites refer to them by names such as mini pant and greca). Both are constructed from a stretchable, thin yet durable fabric that’s 86% polyamid and 14% elastane and they’re available in a wide array of vibrant colors.
FRESH Basic Hipster: This low-rise underwear comfortably hugs your curves and fits incredibly well. They’re available in many colors from fun and bold magenta and orange to safe colors like blue and black. Personally, I opt for the safer colors that I know I’ll get more use out of, but it’s always nice to have the option of purchasing something bolder.
The entire pair (fabric and stitching) is uniform in color with the exception of the very small black, yellow and white brand label that is affixed to the front of the waistband. And the waistband is very thin, which accentuates the sex appeal of the low-rise cut. It also bears mentioning that the front pouch is designed to accommodate and accentuate all sizes.
FRESH CULT Basic Hipster: This pair is similar to the FRESH Basic Hipster, but comes with a waistband that has a Greek design pattern on it. While still a low-rise cut, it’s slightly less low-rise than the FRESH Basic Hipster.
If you like a very form-fitting hipster/trunk design, both the FRESH Basic and FRESH CULT Basic styles are a very good choice.
