Luis & Juke Stevie Trunk: An Xpress Review by Guys’ Underwear Blog
By Valdamar
Rockundies, a UK based company, wanted to reinvent the boring old boxer so they came up with Luis & Juke, a cheerful version of the old classic. Thankfully for us, Rockundies noticed that there were too many uninteresting and mind-numbing boxers on the market.
Of course, there are a variety of fun, cheery boxer briefs out there for us to choose from, yet the idea behind Luis & Juke is actually very original. They have based the entire collection on a retro 50’s rock and roll theme.
The name itself even comes from Luis Jordan, the “King of the Jukebox“. I’m sure these would have been a hit if they existed back then but they certainly aren‘t your grandpas undies.
They will give you a boost in moral and bring a smile to everyone’s face who has the privilege of seeing you in them. The colors are bright and contrasting, conveying the spirit and optimism of the era of Elvis and the birth or Rock and Roll.
Now, despite these being a reinvention of the boxer they aren’t the standard loose baggy boxer they are a more boxer brief type of trunk, they call it the “Stevie Trunk“. They are very comfortable being constructed from a 95% cotton, 5% elastane material, making them breathable and supportive, keeping their shape and snug coziness all day. Rockundies has another number one rock and roll hit here!
I was excited that I had the opportunity to try these “swell” undies out myself. I ordered the “Guitar Hero” a Picasoesque splash of lime greens, yellows and sea blues mixed into guitar silhouettes.
I also ordered “the rare vinyl in the pink”, an abstract ensemble of pastel colors weaved into circular record like patterns. Very cool!
Both of these trunks have the brand name “Luis & Juke” in the retro, funky 50’s blue font centered on the front of the white waist band, with the fly and legs also trimmed in white.
That was my choice, but you have a huge variety of funky styles to choose from, even the more understated white and black. But the whatever look you choose you will be ecstatic and look great.
I wore these trunks several times through long days of work, errands, gym and all kinds of activities and they held up great. I felt comfortable, supported, and knowing I had on such an entertaining pair of undies always made me beam with delight.
The underwear has a very good quality to its construction and it wears well. I am sure it will last you a long time. The material washed well and didn’t fade nor get frizzy or worn.
The elastic waistband is really soft and doesn’t feel binding or irritating. The front has a slight contour to the fly pouch for comfort, and the rear is cut and pieced together with silhouette-forming curve. Luis & Juke underwear is great for every man and a good way of ending the boring underwear some men seem to be stuck on.
These are great undies to start a man on and get him into more cheerful and stylish undies. Rockundies, thank you for this great innovative take on the humdrum boxer.
| What | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Style and look? | It’s is retro, chic, fun and funky. No man can look like a bore in these reminiscent designs. This is a style that takes you back to the era of Buddy Holly and Elvis and a time that represented a carefree-everything’s-swell attitude. |
| Suitable for? | Everyday undies. You can wear these babies anytime, anywhere and for every occasion. They wear well and are comfortable and supportive. They may not replace a jock for athletics or a silk thong for romance but they work well for just about everything else. |
| Fit and quality? | I found the fit to be great, I had no problems with it. I ordered a medium which I always wear and it fit like a glove. The quality is also fantastic and it wears and washes well and will last you a long time even with high use. |
| Is the price right? | The Luis and Juke trunks are going for 13.95 pounds ($22.95 USD) to 15.95 pounds ($26.24 USD), with some on sale for 7.48 pounds ($12.30 USD). That’s not a bad price to pay for underwear of this style and quality. You can also get twin packs for 26.95 pounds ($44.33 USD), or three packs for 29.95 pounds ($49.27 USD). Not bad. |
| Best thing about it? | The fact that not only does it look great but you can wear it all day long with comfort and ease not losing any support or shape. Very well made and designed underwear. Plus it’s so FUN! |
| Overall grade | ★★★★☆
