David Beckham has done it – created his own line of men’s underwear together with Swedish fashion retailer H&M.
Now, Christiano Ronaldo too will team up with a Scandinavian fashion maker to design his very own range of men’s underwear. Danish underwear maker JBS, is the lucky brand who snatched up the soccer star. If you don’t know JBS, you can read our bio on the brand here. Fun fact – the brand recently also launched a celebrity underwear range with tennis starlet, Caroline Wozniacki.
Is is just us, or does Ronaldo seem to do everything Beckham does? First, Beckham became an Armani underwear model. Not long after, Ronaldo too graced Armani underwear ads everywhere.
And now this.
We shall not complain. All we hope now is that fellow sports super star and Armani underwear model, Rafael Nadal, will make the same move into men’s underwear fashion.
Anyway, according to JBS, Ronaldo will be deeply involved in the design and production of the underwear range, which will include several types of undies and socks. The plan is that Ronaldo will release a new range every year.
We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us. Though we liked Beckham’s H&M undies, they never really rocked our world as much as we had hoped. For that, they were simply too mainstream.
We’ll let you guys know when we know more about the release date for the Ronaldo undies.
For now, we’ll have to suffice with what we’ve seen so far from the Portuguese soccer god.
Many of you may not be familiar with Danish men’s underwear maker, JBS. With today’s pictures hopefully that’ll change.
JBS Underwear has been around for decades – more than 70 years in fact – which is quite an achievement in an industry where most of the major and popular brands have been around for no longer than 10-15 years.
The Danish men’s underwear label actually was quite the gutsy brand back in the 60s and 70s stirring up a number of fashion controversies, such as the introduction of an unisex undies range amidst the sexual revolution in the 1970s.
Nowadays, JBS still can cause attract attention. A recent ranchy television ad featuring half-naked women wearing traditional JBS men’s underwear has been seen by millions on Youtube.
Though JBS’ marketing tactics may portray the brand as controversial and edgy, their designs are fairly mainstream. However, their basic underwear range, which is featured in these photos, is top of the class when it comes to classic, traditional men’s briefs and boxer briefs.
Tighty whitie lovers, who have not jumped on the low-rise-sexy-pouch-enhancing wagon, will love these undies from JBS.
JBS underwear is hard to come by online in the U.S., but you can check out where the brand is sold over at www.jbs-underwear.com.
JBS mens underwear has been a popular brand since 1940s. Classic designs and superior quality have dominated their collections since the start and ensured an ever-growing and loyal customer base. In 2010 the men’s underwear trends will be dominated by the brief and boxer briefs styles. JBS Underwear is a strong contender within these categories, and this article will present five potential top sellers from the current JBS underwear collections.
5. JBS Evolution Roligan Boxer Briefs
This style will most likely peak in popularity around the football world cup in South Africa during the summer of 2010. The style resides within the flag underwear category, which is currently dominated by Aussiebum. Regrettably, the world cup collection will only available with Danish flag design. The style is made from a tight-fitting microfiber fabric.

4. JBS Basic 137 Trunks
The Basic 137 trunk is one of the classic styles which will likely cement its popularity in 2010. With its discreet waistband logo this style will appeal to the conservative man, who values quality and a neat-looking pair of men’s underwear that at the same time are not too boring yet not too daring. The style is made from 96 % cotton and 4 % spandex to ensure a tight and comfortable fit.
3. JBS Trade 140 Minislip Briefs
As for the top three JBS mens underwear styles of 2010, it is no secret that they are all brief styles. The Trade 140 minislip style grabs the third place. This is another classic JBS style, which with its slight low-rise style and light fabric appeals to the man who wants support and a clean-looking pair of briefs underwear, which is made from 100 % cotton.
2. JBS Basic 137 Briefs
This style combines the classic brief with a modern look and feel with its broad waistband and visibly big JBS logos. Men who want to show off a little underwear waistband above the jeans waist line might choose this style, which is made from a thin cotton fabric with a hint of Lycra to ensure a tight fit.
1. JBS Original brief
As the briefs are set to make a comeback on the mainstream underwear fashion scene, don’t be surprised if you see more and more classic briefs in the locker room at your local gym. As specific underwear types come back in style, it is often classic models that become the most popular. And so the number one JBS mens underwear style in 2010 is the Original brief, complete with fly and a narrow waistband, made from 100 % cotton.

Maybe you read the post on JBS Underwear and their extremely popular viral video?
Well, I found this video, taking you behind the scenes of JBS mens underwear photo shoot. You really get the feeling that this men’s underwear brand wants to be up there with the best of them. The photos poke fun at American culture icons like Paris Hilton and Playboy.
Skip to the 00:40 mark to see the nice male underwear model wearing some classic and sexy white briefs.
I have owned quite a few pairs of JBS briefs and boxer briefs, and while they are not as daring as many of the other mens underwear brands out there, the quality is good and the look is clean.
If you want to know more about the JBS underwear brand, you can read my article on The Many Styles of JBS Underwear.
JBS underwear is one of the oldest brands in the world within the category of men’s underwear and has gained widespread popularity across the world since World War II. Back then, only a few underwear collections were carried, the first one called the 300 series, which included boxer shorts and briefs.
Black underwear model causes a stir
JBS underwear was among the pioneers when it came to developing new styles and collections that increased focus on fit and optimized design. The evolving attitude towards men’s underwear fashion spawned a new range of black underwear in the 1960s, giving the JBS brand a cheeky and groundbreaking image. The company’s founder, Jens Bjerg Sørensen, whose initials form the acronym JBS, shows skills in creating publicity. When introducing the all-new black underwear collection, JBS the defied racial tensions at the time and proudly employed a black model to present the collection on the runway.
Unisex styles are in!
JBS keeps cementing its position as one of the leading producers of fashion underwear for men during the late 1960s and 1970s. With the sexual revolution raging at this time, JBS spots a trend in unisex clothing and develops an underwear style to be worn by both men and women. JBS is no longer just men’s underwear brand, and the collection becomes hugely successful.
The rise of the metrosexual male
After trying to break into other clothing categories such as leisure wear and jogging clothes, JBS refocuses its product strategy in the late 1980s to include only underwear for guys. The 1990s meant growing globalization and heightened competition from major international underwear brands, which increase in popularity in line with the needs of the metrosexual man for self-representation. Men become much involved in their underwear choices, whereas before this was generally done for them by their mothers and wives.
Viral underwear video gets 11 million views
As the new millennium dawns, so does new marketing opportunities, and once again JBS gains widespread attention when launching a viral video on the web. The video is made to support the campaign “Men don’t want to look at naked men”, which reverses the traditional roles of the sexes. The video shows a young woman only wearing a white pair of men’s briefs, behaving like a “real man”. The campaign and collection is a massive success, and more than 11,000,000 people view the video online, propelling the brand onto the international underwear scene.
70 years of hard work and bold style choices have positioned JBS as one the most daring and interesting brands of men’s underwear.

JBS is a Danish men’s underwear brand, which dates back 70 years! Evolving from offering only the classic white brief to a wide variety of different stylish underwear collections, this brand has become a major player on guys underwear scene.
JBS Underwear gained widespread attention a couple of years ago when launching a viral video on the web. The video was made to support the campaign “Men don’t want to look at naked men”, which reverses the traditional roles of the sexes (why I don’t know :)).

Though the idea is funny and quite a different way of promoting men’s underwear.
