With new underwear reviewer, Jeff, on the team we thought it could be interesting to have him review some of the same undies as I (Jay) and Val have reviewed over the years. You know, to see if he is of the same opinions as us.
So today we re-visit an old classic, the Intymen Mesh Sports Brief, a pair of underwear that Valdemar first reviewed about a year ago.
Let’s see what Jeff thinks of it (not the exact same pair, obviously, ha!).
The designers at Intymen came up with a pretty cool concept when they created a sexy sports brief inspired by mesh gym shorts. And the finished product is definitely sexy.
For this review, I tried a pair of red sports briefs, but they’re also available in black, white, navy and turquoise. The trim (waistband, leg openings and vertical side-stitching stripe) adds an additional color and complements the athletic feel of the product.
The comfortable material is an ultra-thin, single layer of mesh comprised of 78% nylon and 22% spandex. So it reminded me of mesh gym shorts, but they’re much thinner. They’re also incredibly light. Holding them in my hand it seemed that they hardly had any weight at all.
I found that I liked these briefs. They’re very comfortable because of the front pouch and the silky soft material that’s designed to easily adjust to the body. But the main draw for me is the athletic sex appeal. The mesh isn’t see-through, but it’s just a step away from it. And the low-rise is just high enough to cover everything that should be covered.
Also, at about one-quarter inch, the waistband is about as thin as it can get. These unique briefs tease the senses, without showing more than you may want to show. They’re a great choice for guys who want unique, low-rise briefs that offer sex appeal, comfort and athletic detail.
|Style and look?||Sexy, athletic look.|
|Suitable for?||Wear them when you want to feel sexy.|
|Fit and quality?||Quality construction and fit.|
|Is the price right?||I checked a few sites and found that the retail price ranges from about $17.50 to $21.50. This is a good price for a unique item that offers both sex appeal and comfort.|
|Best thing about it?||The athletic-like sex appeal.|
A solid 4 star score – same as in Val’s original review. I totally see why he liked them so much!

In 2010, we were mighty impressed with the various men’s underwear offerings by Intymen.
A few weeks ago, Intymen revealed a bunch of new styles from their 2011 range.
The cuts are classic Intymen, but the color and print designs have been updated so that you now can get a number of multicolored Intymen briefs and trunks.
New and updated styles include the Fill It Flex, Dragon Boxer, Chrome Brief, Blue Boxer, and the Pea Cock Boxer.

Good Day undie fans! We hope your day will be as great as the underwear you’re in. We have another terrific pair of underwear to talk about today. It’s the Intymen Sports Brief.
When you hear “Sports” Brief you think an athletic and supportive type of style. However, Intymen has taken the sporty concept in another direction.
This is a very unique brief design. Upon first look it almost has the feel and look of a panty because there is no elastic waist band and its primary fabric is nylon. I even had several friends tell me they thought it looked like a panty.
But don’t get me wrong, this is no girly brief; to the contrary, that‘s where the sports part comes into the design play. It has a mesh quality and side trim that give it an athletic look. It’s like wearing a small sexy stretchy pair of basketball or running shorts.
I love what Intymen has done with this brief because it has a look and feel that is unlike any other pair of underwear I own and they are really comfortable.
I wore these briefs for a full day of work lounging at home and hitting the gym, washed them and did it again. This brief is amazingly comfortable, it just hangs on you and allows you to move with out any encumbrance and it breathes so easily keeping your groin cool and dry.
This is definitely a lounging brief. At work it felt very comfortable and kept me feeling good. However, due to it’s light and stretchy feel it does not offer a lot in the way of support, although at work it didn’t seem to be a problem.
Even though this is called a sports brief I didn’t find it to be the best pair of underwear for the gym. Again it’s not a supportive brief – it’s all about comfort here. While I was at the gym I found that it rode around when I was putting it through some rougher movements, and I didn’t stay supported and needed to “adjust” myself quit often.
I don’t think this would be the underwear you’d want to wear for an athletic event. Although it may do well under a light pair of running shorts where you want light and airy. It may depend on what you place a priority on; light comfort versus support.
Actually, if you’re daring enough it could substitute as a pair of running shorts, I have seen Speedos in marathons.
The underwear washed well in my machine although it is advised to hand wash. I did lay it out to air dry as recommended, though.
The quality of the craftsmanship on this brief should give it a long life. All together this is an unbelievably comfortable pair of underwear that would go great in any collection.
|Style and look||The sports brief is made of 92% nylon and 8% spandex and comes in white with black trim, black with white trim or turquoise with white trim. The mesh and side trim give it a sporty athletic look. The lack of a waist band gives this brief a style that says smooth and sexy.|
|Suitable for?||Lounging around the house, yours or a friend’s. It’s great underwear for sleeping in and due to it’s unique and glossy tailoring it is a pair that you will want to show off. A great pair for underwear nights and parties.|
|Fit and quality?||This brief comes in S (28” -30’) – M(31”-33”) – L(34”-36”) – XL(37”-39”). Because of the super stretchy quality of the fabric I would recommend ordering a size smaller than you wear unless your at the extreme high end of that size as it is.
I wear a medium and received a medium. They fit me ok but had a slight lose feel to them, which could be ok if you’re looking for a roomy fit. But the fabric will stretch to your form so I would have chosen a small to fit me ideally.
|Is the price right?||At $20 I would say this is an average price you’d expect to pay for these briefs. Being that they are pretty unique it’s hard to compare them to the price of other briefs. But it’s not a bad price for what you get. And because they are so original in their design they are well worth it.|
|Best thing about it?||Comfort. I can’t stress enough how comfortable these briefs are. While there may be times when you need support over comfort if comfort is what you are looking for these are the briefs you want. And they look HOT!|
|Overall grade||★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
Intymen has given us a treat with this pair of briefs. They have a style and comfort that is unique to them and they have accomplished it with a manly athletic look. We all have a time when we need and deserve comfort and these briefs will deliver.

Hello Men! I hope the New Year is going great for you.
Of course, a look at a fantastic new pair of underwear can always help. If you’re like me a nice pair of underwear can brighten any day. This time we’re looking at the Comfort Brief by Intymen.
The Comfort Brief is Intymen’s take on the classic tighty whitey brief (comes in black, too). However, this is no boring old brief since Intymen has added their sexy sleek style to the classic. It is made to contour your bodies shape so it’s not just a flat piece of cotton for you to stretch into.
When I first put on the comfort brief I knew right away I was in love!
It was snug in all the right areas and provided support exactly where I needed it. The “U” shaped pouch is fashioned with ample space to hold your goods and has a narrow strip running between your legs attaching it securely to the back.
This narrow strip is great because it doesn’t bunch up or chaff. The back is also contoured to fit snuggly to your bum without any excess stretching of the material pulling the briefs back.
I wore the brief for a full long day of work and it held up great. I never had chaffing, it kept me secure and in place and it did all this with great comfort while looking good. Most of the time it was so comfortable I didn’t even realize I had it on.
It washed well with no visible wear, especially because I ran it through the dryer despite the fact that the label recommends laying it flat in a shady area to dry. I next wore the brief to the gym after another long day of comfort at work. It gave me great support and as always comfort through my workout and looked great in the locker room.
All I have to say is it truly lives up to it’s name as the Comfort Brief.
|Style and look||The brief is made of 92% cotton and 8% spandex. The spandex keeps the brief looking fresh and form fitting all day long. It is fitted for a man and hugs your body nicely.
It doesn’t ride as high as the “traditional” or cheap briefs, its waist band sits right at about your hip bone. So it doesn’t have your Grandfather’s tighty whitey look. The pair I received had white lettering on the white wasit band although the picture had shown black letters.
I liked the total white look, I thought it gave the brief a suave quality.
|Suitable for?||EVERYONE, ANYTIME. The great thing about this brief is that it is versatile. Because it has a classic look it can be worn by the masses and adapt to your style.
Yet because it has style to it with it’s contoured cut and pouch it says its elegant and sexy. And it’s comfortable and supportive and meets the goals underwear was designed to take on.
|Fit and quality?||The Comfort Brief comes in S (28” -30’)-M(31”-33”)-L(34”-36”)-XL(37”-39”). The fit is great and holds up all day long.
The touch of spandex makes the material last and gives you support while maintaining a great fit. It’s crafted to fit your body with a roomy pouch and a contoured rear.
The waistband, stitching and overall assembly are done with a quality making this a brief that will last.
|Is the price right?||The brief is sold at US $17.60. This price is not bad although it is on the higher end of the average scale. Yet still an average price. But the quality and comfort you get is well worth it.|
|Best thing about it?||This brief is resourceful. Its traditional look will never go out of style, and the quality and cut give it a flair that will last a long time. It goes with anything and can be worn at anytime!|
|Overall grade||★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Now we don’t go around handing out 5 stars like candy mints here, however I honestly can’t think of anything this brief is missing or lacking. As an everyday brief it’s about perfect.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a review of underwear from the “fun” category. But a few weeks ago my friends over at Underwear Station asked me to try out a pair of true profile-enhancing trunks from Intymen – a new brand here on Guys’ Underwear Blog.
And I’m glad they did!
The Intymen brand spices up traditional cuts, such as boxers and briefs, by featuring elements such as hidden C-rings, pouch enhancement hammocks and other fun contraptions.
Today’s item is a great example of pouch-enhancing men’s underwear that’s both noninvasive and comfortable to wear.
So, without further ado, feast your eyes on the Intymen Embossment Boxer!
|Style and look||First of all, the Intymen Embossment Boxer is really not a boxer brief, let alone a pair of boxer shorts.
More appropriately, it’s a classic trunk cut with legs measuring about 7 inches including waistband. Overall this style oozes subtle classiness with a discrete stripes pattern, white-on-white waistband with Intymen logos, as well as a silver foil logo on the hip.
Of course, the defining feature of the Intymen Embossment Boxer is the foam-padded pouch. The pouch is extremely roomy and soft, yet at all times it keeps a distinct round and impressively bulgy shape.
This pouch design will give you quite a visible pouch profile, but – and this is key – it doesn’t go overboard. It’s not vulgarly enhancing. You will turn heads, for sure, but in the good way.
|Suitable for?||Made from 87% Polyamide and 13% Spandex, the Intymen Embossment Boxer is very light-weight and breathable. It is extremely comfortable to wear, and you can easily use it for all types of purposes. Personally I would wear it for nights out, and in other situations where an impressive bulge attracts the right kind of attention. I found that it works well with both tight and loose jeans.
|Fit and quality?||The Polyamide / Elastane blend is extremely flexible and has plenty of stretch. I wore a size M for a size 32/33 inch waist and found no need to size up or down. To preserve stretch and fabric quality, however, remember to hand-wash the trunk in cold water.|
|Is the price right?||The Intymen Embossment Boxer is US $24.50. Underwear in the enhancement category is often more expensive than regular underwear, so $24,50 is quite reasonable – especially when you take into consideration the fabric composition, which arguably is more sophisticated than your average cotton blend.
|Best thing about it?||I’ve seen a lot of pouch enhancement designs. I truly prefer those that are noninvasive and manage to combine comfortability with a naturally-looking, enhanced bulge. The pouch design of the Intymen Embossment Boxer does exactly this.|
|Overall grade||★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
An fine example of profile-enhancing men’s underwear with great mainstream potential. This is high-quality, fun underwear at a fair price. Washing the trunk properly may be a little more time-consuming than other underwear, but you’ll want to preserve these babies for as long as you can – that’s for sure.
