Archive for the ‘HOM’ Category
One of my personal favorite brands over the last year or so has got to be HOM. Much like brands such as Bruno Banani and Olaf Benz, HOM excels at high-quality, beautifully crafted briefs in the not-so-cheap-but-definitely-worth-it category. You can tell that the designers of this brand and their customers have a true passion for the brief style – which incidentally is also my own preference when comes to everyday underwear.
HOM have really gone to great lengths to explore the brief category, offering sub-styles such as micro briefs, mini briefs the regular brief. The topic of today’s review is the HOM H01 Cotton Modal Mini Brief. As you can imagine, given my enthusiasm about this brand, I had quite a few HOM briefs in my drawer to choose from when having to pick out one for this week’s review. The reason I chose the H01 is simply that this brief combines the 3 underwear qualities I value the most: Proper craftsmanship and design, a supreme fit and excellent fabric choice.
The H01 Cotton Modal Mini Brief simply feels exquisite to wear an entire day. Made from a 67% cotton, 22% micro modal and 11% elastane fabrix mix the brief are soft as kitten, stretchy and breathable. A winning combination this time of year.
Messieurs Belpaume and Anselme probably didn’t quite know what they were starting when in 1968 they introduced the HOM brand to France. The Marseille-based duo invested every design with that uniquely French ‘je ne sais quoi’. HOMSports debuted in 1995 (later worn by the French team that won the 1998 Football World Cup), swiftly followed by ‘happiness for men’, HOM’s patented HO1 horizontal opening.
And here we have the link to final feature that I want to highlight about the H01 Cotton Modal Mini Brief – the stylish and eye-catching horizontal fly opening. It just looks cool, and for those of you wondering, yes, it is fully functional. In terms of making this brief stand out in the bedroom, in the locker room – wherever – this fly really is the defining feature.
In conclusion: Absolutely one of the best briefs I have worn this year.

‘The recent revival of my interest in boxer briefs and trunks had me looking into some of the items from high end men’s underwear maker HOM‘s 2011 winter collection.
HOM is an elegant brand for elegant men. I always picture white-collar career men to be the type of guys who perfer HOM. HOM’s designs and branding campaigns are always sophisticated – and production quality is usually flawless.
HOM offers an abundance of cuts and even more choices in terms of color and designs. I find that the brand is at its best when it comes to clean, single color designs with little or subtle imagery.
So, the items I picked out for today’s post reflect this preference. It’s what I would probably go for the next time I’m in the market for HOM undies.
HOM boxer briefs are typically $40-45 USD, reflecting that high end look and feel. But a quick search on Google will probably unveil a HOM sale or two around the net.
