Diesel Fresh & Bright Briefs: An Xpress Review by Guys’ Underwear Blog
By Jeff
Hey guys, it was a fun day for me recently when a box of Diesel Fresh & Bright Briefs from International Jock arrived at my apartment. I’ve been a fan of Diesel jeans for many years, but had never worn their underwear. So I tried them out and am happy to report my thoughts!
The Fresh & Bright line has a few styles of underwear. For this review I tried out the Andre Brief and the Blade Brief.
Fresh & Bright Andre Brief – I’ll start by saying that I’m now a big fan of both the look and feel of these briefs. The soft material is 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so it’s breathable and offers a little stretch. And it’s available in a variety of fun micro-striped colors. Some of the other distinguishing features include the bold Diesel logo on the front of the 1.5 inch thick waistband, a double-ply pouch and solid color piping around the crotch. Also, the quality is evident with the stitching, durability and the wearability/fit.
But what’s it like to wear them? Let me sum it up this way…if you like briefs, you’ll want a pair of these. They fit really well all around and are incredibly comfortable. The pouch provides support and comfort while the material in the back stays in place all day and accentuates the look of your rear. And I have to admit that I think they look pretty good on me. They’re the kind of brief that I can wear throughout the day and always feel good. And I’d definitely be confident wearing these on a date or to the gym.
Fresh & Bright Blade Brief – The Blade Brief is very similar to the Andre Brief, but differs in two main ways:
- It comes in solid colors with contrasting color waistband and piping
- It offers a working fly
The Blade Brief is just as comfortable and versatile as the Andre Brief and would make a great addition to your underwear drawer.
| What | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Style and look? | Briefs with attractive styling. |
| Suitable for? | These are versatile briefs that are suitable for any activity. |
| Fit and quality? | They fit well and the quality is apparent in the choice of materials, the stitching, durability and styling. |

| Best thing about it? | It’s tough to list just one aspect, so I’ll list two: the look and feel. |
| Overall grade | ★★★★★ |

Diesel Divine Underwear – An Xpress Review by Guys’ Underwear Blog
By Scott from SkinnyJonz
Diesel Underwear refreshed the Divine range in 2011, and for Autumn/Winter they have released a cotton and elastane range with various designs and colours. Divine has been refreshed with a series of products in briefs, trunks and with a new jockstrap. Various colours are available with some stylish blues and reds. There are 2 packs available as well. Diesel always produce urban looking designs and the Diesel logo is large across the waistband.
The Diesel Divine range is a really good fit and the waistband is really comfortable and looks great. The cotton fabric has a nice feel and looks cool. I have been wearing various Diesel trunks for the past few weeks and I am impressed by the fit and quality.
As always, Diesel will no doubt be bringing further variations out in this very popular product line and the campaign still looks fresh, urban and young.
| What | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Style and look? | The Diesel Divine range is available in a trunk, brief or jock strap. I wore the navy blue trunk version, and it looked and felt great. The waistband felt soft and will look great peaking out just above your jeans’ waistline, featuring the signature Diesel logo. |
| Suitable for? | Everyday underwear and very urban. The stretchy fabric composition (95% Cotton, 5% Elastane) meant that they provided proper support and felt light. Also, you might even use them for sports if you feel like it, especially with the jock strap! |
| Fit and quality? | The fit was absolutely great due to the fabric quality. I wore a size M for a 34 inch waist. The quality with Diesel is great. |
| Is the price right? | The Diesel products are very good value for money, especially for a top quality product. A pair of Devine trunks is around $27.50 USD. |
| Best thing about it? | The younger, urban designs are fresh and bright, as per their ‘Fresh and Bright’ product lines. |
| Overall grade | ★★★★☆ Diesel Divine gets a nice 4 out of 5 star grade for an underwear range that’ll satisfy most men’s need for comfortable, no-nonsense everyday underwear. Well done! |

Guys in swimwear – Diesel
Recently, Diesel made quite the impact at the Miami Swim Week – and we’ve got pictures from their runway fashion show!
Here at Guys’ Underwear Blog we are big Diesel fans – we like pretty much all their products, from swimwear and underwear to their awesome line of jeans.
Today we focus on their most recent range of swimwear for men which were presented at a lavish show in collaboration with SKYY VODKA a few weeks ago.
All the most popular cuts were there – swim briefs, trunks, and board shorts – and we like them all!
We’ve seen Diesel swim briefs on sale at Diesel.com for around $30 USD, board shorts are typically $60-70.
Also check out the huge selection of both Diesel swimwear and underwear over at GUB favorite, International Jock.
With that, enjoy the photos, guys!

Undergear: Behind the scenes video of the spring 2010 photo shoot
Undergear is one of the top online shops (and brands) when it comes to men’s underwear.
Undergear is also one of those brands/web shops that do a brilliant job doing PR stunts and capture them on video.
Maybe you remember when the Undergear underwear models took over Time Square. Or perhaps you dreamed of being in the Undergear underwear model competition?
Anyway, now Undergear is out with a preview video featuring footage of the shoot for their 2010 spring catalog featuring models Ben Pamies, Tyler Lough, Scott Herman, Paul Marron, James Guardino, Anton Antipov, and Michael G… So all sorts of treats in there…briefs, trunks, boxer briefs, square cuts – you name it, they’ve got it.
Also, don’ miss the behind the scenes video of UnderGear’s men’s swim wear photo shoot for their 2010 catalog.
Enjoy!

Men’s underwear fashion show. 2(x)ist, Diesel, D&G, C-IN2.
Easter is nearing and what better way to kick off the holiday than with a good old men’s underwear fashion show from the archives.
Specifically, this 2008 video is from the guys over at Universal Gear. It features a professionally produced male underwear fashion show with some of the best brands on display, including 2(x)ist, Diesel, D&G, and C-IN2.
Looking for more on 2(x)ist? Watch the 2(x)ist ad that got banned from several major magazines!
The show gathers all my favorite cuts such as briefs, trunks, and boxer briefs as well as a sea of low rise styles.
You can read a lot more about each of the men’s underwear brands featured on the runway here on Guys’ Underwear Blog. All of them are some of my major favorites – great quality, great designs, and best of all, there’s something for every wallet size.
Happy Easter guys!

Men’s boxer brief of the year: Diesel Breddox Trunk and UnderArmour Boxer Jock
Boxer briefs is the third category from the HisRoom.com men’s underwear celebration, the Undie Awards.
If you missed the first two categories, don’t forget to read who took home the prestigious titles of Men’s brief and Jockstrap 2009.
Also, see the winning boxer brief of 2010.
Just as was the case with Men’s Briefs and Jockstrap categories, both a judges’ selection as well as an overall winner in the Boxer Brief category were chosen.
As always you can watch detailed video footage of both men’s boxer briefs below.
No jerking around, though, let’s get to the winners…
Men’s boxer brief Judges Selection of the year 2009: Diesel Breddox Trunk
In their evaluation of the Diesel Breddox Trunk, the HisRoom Judges said, “No matter what mood you’re in, you can find something to like in this style. The fabric feels like your favorite t-shirt and the color selection can’t be beat. Everything about these trunks feels just right, from the top of the color-coordinated waistband to the thin elastic bands around the leg openings. Whether you like a shot of concealed color in your wardrobe, or you prefer a boxer brief that is so light and soft you forget you’re wearing it, these are an excellent choice.”
Really, here the focus is comfort. The Diesel Breddox Trunk (boxer brief) is made from a very soft and comfortable cotton blend consisting of 95 % cotton and the obligatory 5 % spandex to give it that necessary stretchiness. Also, the inside of the waistband is lined for greater comfort.
Once again I must praise the fact that this boxer brief comes in at least nine different color variations. In fact, this is a boxer brief that you can easily get 4 or 5 pairs of. Why? Simply because it’s the perfect everyday underwear for men. And you don’t want to have 5 identically colored Diesel Breddox trunks – rather, you’d want to get one in every color.
Quality often doesn’t come cheap and these boxer briefs are slightly over-priced in my opinion. Granted, the quality is great, and Diesel is a premium underwear brand, but still, $26 a pair is a bit hefty for everyday underwear. But hey, if love proper quality underwear, the Diesel Breddox Trunk is a great choice.
I dare even say that I like this boxer brief style better than the one that won the public vote…(see below).
First, though, here is a video presentation of the Diesel Breddox Trunk.

Men’s boxer brief of the year 2009, overall winner: UnderArmour Boxeræø Jock
In their evaluation of the UnderArmour Boxer Jock, which is more of long-legged boxer brief, the HisRoom Judges noted, “Given all of the styles and brands of boxer briefs that we carry, this win was a bit of a surprise. There hasn’t been one review under five stars for these boxer briefs. They are made for ease-of-motion and superior comfort. Add the fabric’s wicking and ventilation properties and you’ve got a performance boxer brief that performs right along with you. They do precisely what the company says they will do, and many that have purchased them refuse to buy anything else.”
I can follow the judges’ surprise as this is not your everyday boxer brief. And since there are only 5 star reviews of the UnderArmour Boxer Jock, there must be something to it.
From what I can tell, this is an obvious choice for sports and athletic activities. Especially with it’s mesh crotch panel, which is double-layered and made from 90% Polyester and 10% Elastane, a fabric blend that no doubt will keep your boys cool and dry.
Adding to the athletic characters of this boxer brief is the fact that the long legs are constructed to ensure a tight and controlling compression fit.
The UnderArmour Boxer Jock certainly is a top-of-the-line boxer brief for working out, but maybe it will be a little bit overkill everyday purposes. That doesn’t mean, however, that it comes with over-the-top price tag. A very reasonable $20 is all you have pay for these boxer briefs.
It should be noted that UnderArmour also took home the judges’ award for best jockstrap so go for this brand if you’re looking for top quality men’s performance underwear.

Get both styles at HisRoom.

Diesel mens underwear Shawn collection vs. 2xist Surf. They look alike, so which should you choose?
I haven’t seen a lot of buzz among my fellow underwear bloggers in connection with the release of the new mens underwear collection, Shawn, by Diesel. Via Sexy Undies I finally found the Shawn collection on sale at Figleaves.
2xist Surf collection
On the other hand, if you’re into men’s underwear fashion you must’ve been living under a rock these last few weeks to have missed the launch of the new Surf collection of men’s underwear by 2xist.
All the major men’s underwear blogs, including Underwear Fanatic, Speedo Junkie, Underwear News Briefs to Daily Jocks and Undie Fan, have been promoting the Surf collection. So there must be something to this new collection by 2xist.
The verdict: which is better, the Diesel Shawn collection or 2xist Surf?
The reason I am comparing these two collections is that they look extremely alike and thus hint something about the flashy and bright color trends influencing men’s underwear fashion at the moment. Let’s have a look:
In my opinion, Diesel and 2xist are both great quality mens underwear products. I’ve had a pair of Diesel boxer briefs as one of my favorite pair for ages. The same goes for 2xist, which is my preferred brand for briefs. I have too many pairs to count :)
So, both the Shawn collection as well as the Surf will probably be great quality, but when it comes to design, I have to say that the Surf briefs have a little more edge than the Diesel Shawn briefs. It’s the little things like the slightly wider waistband and the blue edges around the legs. It just grabs my attention somewhat more than the Diesel brief.
The final nail in the coffin for the Diesel Shawn brief… the price. I found it on sale at the British version of Figleaves for £15, which is about $23. In comparison, the 2xist Surf brief is on sale at International Jock for just $15.
The verdict, then, in the mens underwear battle between the Diesel Shawn collection vs. 2xist Surf (based on the brief style) is that the 2xist Surf is the better choice in terms of value for money and design. When it comes to quality, it’s a tie!
Do you disagree? Let me know in the comments :)
