With new underwear reviewer, Jeff, on the team we thought it could be interesting to have him review some of the same undies as I (Jay) and Val have reviewed over the years. You know, to see if he is of the same opinions as us.

So today we re-visit an old classic, the Intymen Mesh Sports Brief, a pair of underwear that Valdemar first reviewed about a year ago.

Let’s see what Jeff thinks of it (not the exact same pair, obviously, ha!).

The designers at Intymen came up with a pretty cool concept when they created a sexy sports brief inspired by mesh gym shorts.  And the finished product is definitely sexy.

For this review, I tried a pair of red sports briefs, but they’re also available in black, white, navy and turquoise.  The trim (waistband, leg openings and vertical side-stitching stripe) adds an additional color and complements the athletic feel of the product.

The comfortable material is an ultra-thin, single layer of mesh comprised of 78% nylon and 22% spandex.  So it reminded me of mesh gym shorts, but they’re much thinner.  They’re also incredibly light.  Holding them in my hand it seemed that they hardly had any weight at all.

I found that I liked these briefs.  They’re very comfortable because of the front pouch and the silky soft material that’s designed to easily adjust to the body.  But the main draw for me is the athletic sex appeal.  The mesh isn’t see-through, but it’s just a step away from it.  And the low-rise is just high enough to cover everything that should be covered.

Also, at about one-quarter inch, the waistband is about as thin as it can get.  These unique briefs tease the senses, without showing more than you may want to show.  They’re a great choice for guys who want unique, low-rise briefs that offer sex appeal, comfort and athletic detail.

Unless you’ve been you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that faded Hollywood star, Mario Lopez, recently launched his very own range of men’s underwear, wittingly called Rated M.

Well, here at Guys’ Underwear Blog we are not sure what to think of Mr. Lopez’ underwear endeavors. The undies look a bit… old-fashioned.

But hey, props to him for making men’s underwear the talk of the town this past week. It’s clear that Mario Lopez sure knows how to market his new Rated M range.

A few days ago, Mario was a guest on the Ellen show and was “forced” to strip and show off his new underwear – to the obvious delight of the women in the audience.

You can watch the video clip below – it has already gone viral, attracting more than 380,000 views. You can also see a few pics of the new range below the clip.

Now all Mr. Lopez has to do is go back to his designers and teach them the words “low rise” – that should help bring sexy back to this range.

How is it that I only recently discovered 2Wink Australia? This brand, which was founded in 2005, offers several lines of fun and attractive underwear and swimwear and ships to over 30 countries. I should also mention that they offer free shipping!

For this review I wore three samples, all of which are made from a comfortable fabric that’s 92% cotton and 8% spandex.

80’s Trunk

These are a fusion of the fun of the 80s and the technology of today. This pair features some cool retro elements with the pink and blue horizontal stripes in the waistband and pink in the leg opening. But everything else is a product of modern fabric, fit and style.

It’s styled in a way that offers support in the front and comfortably hugs the back. And the fit is a pleasant surprise – frankly, it makes my butt look great. Somehow, the fabric shows separation in the cheeks without giving a full wedgie.

Sure, you can feel the fabric pressing between your cheeks, but I didn’t find it to be uncomfortable. Instead, I found these trunks to be sexy and fun.

Candy Brief

These come in pink, green and yellow. I must admit that when I saw the pair of pink underwear in the package, I didn’t expect to like them. But I was so wrong. I wore them to work yesterday and was impressed by the all-around level of comfort and style.

In fact, I kept forgetting that I had them on… Yes, they’re that comfortable! The fabric is ultra-soft and the fit is sexy. They adjusted to my body and I never felt any tightness or pulling. If I had to change one thing about them it would only be to reduce the font size of the brand name on the waist band. But that’s probably just a personal thing.

Hung Downunder Brief

Offering a lower rise than the Candy Briefs, the Hung Downunder Briefs come with a contour pouch that in the words of 2Wink “support any size man in comfort”. They come in black, but you can choose a waistband that has the brand name written in either red, blue or green. They’re almost as comfortable as the Candy Briefs and are a great choice for guys who prefer the sex appeal of low-rise, but aren’t looking for bold colors.

Our first true, Australian underwear love will always be aussieBum.

Rarely, if ever, have they let us down with any of their many, versatile men’s underwear collections ranging from aggressive bulge-enhancing  undies to classic, mainstream appealing briefs and boxer briefs.

Another thing they master better than most of their rivals is their branding efforts. Videos, pictures, in-store (and public) happenings – they’ve done it all – and put it on YouTube for the world to see. Thank the Lord!

Do you remember that guy in high school who was good at everything – sports, tests, getting dates?  Well, if that guy was a brand, he’d probably be 2(x)ist.  They just seem to get everything right!  This company, which was founded over 20 years ago, has built its reputation on creating attractive styles that fit well and feel comfortable.  And the new Tartan Line is no exception.

The Tartan collection is available in trunks, briefs, long johns and Henley shirts.  For this review I tried a pair of black trunks and black briefs.  They’re made with a high-quality fabric that’s 90% cotton and 10% spandex.  So they’re soft and provide just the right amount of stretch.  Like all 2(x)ist underwear that I’ve worn, they include a pouch in the front for support and comfort.

The distinctive feature of the underwear is the woven plaid pattern (tartan) that appears on the waist band.  This is a fun way to add some color and additional style to the line.  The rest of the fabric comes in either solid black, white or red.

I don’t like over-using the same word, but have to say that both the trunks and the briefs are incredibly COMFORTABLE.  The fabric feels great and the underwear fits just right…no itchy tag, no tightness in the crotch or leg openings, no bunching.  The briefs are sexy while still offering the right amount of coverage on the backside.  And the pouch in front makes your profile all the more impressive.  The trunks are just as attractive and enjoyable to wear.

I’d describe the Tartan underwear as “Go To” underwear.  They’re great for everyday wear, for working out and for being seen in.  They also hold up perfectly in the wash.

Sometimes all you want is some nice, inspiring photos of guys in underwear you haven’t seen before.

It’s been a few months since we last did a posting about this gorgeous London-based underwear brand, so these news pics are long overdue.

We like the colors and design of this 80s inspired collection! Specifically, there’s something about that white/yellow square cut… As a cut it has a real retro feel to it. Could the square cut be making a comeback?

Let’s start with some numbers… Andrew Christian released this epic video a week ago, and already the YouTube friendly version has gotten 700,000 views!!

It’s official, the men’s underwear brand’s latest video has gone viral!

When you watch it below, you’ll see why.

Dressed in nothing but skimpy, micro modal Andrew Christian Air Sculpt Briefs a string of male underwear models soap each other up (and the car) in a “classic” semi nude car wash scene.

It’s not porn… but it’s close.

The video clip – lasting a full 3 minutes in the YouTube friendly version – was so raunchy that it had to be toned down for YouTube.

If you want to check out the unrated version, visit the Andrew Christian website, though it’s hard to contemplate how they could possibly make it any raunchier than what’s already on YouTube.

Anyway, major props to Andrew Christian for causing such a viral stir and some showcasing great-looking briefs. Could they be the new rulers of the men’s underwear video scene? aussieBum, you better watch out…

These are the months when Aussie underwear brands flourish!

One of our favorite Australian brands is 2wink. They recently released their brand new Walkabout collection.

Before we get to the sizzling pictures below, though, lets dwell by the name of this brand for a moment.

If you think the name is clever of spelling the word “twink”, then think again. In fact, 2wink Australia’s brand name was conceived from the concept to wink your eye (hence to wink). Combined with that the company produces Aussie made products the result is 2-wink Australia.

There you go. We feel more enlightened.
