Brief of the year 2012: Nominee #7 – Barcode Berlin Corporal Jay Brief
May 7th, 2012Ok, guys – it’s time for the presentation of the last, but not least, nominee for title of Brief of the Year 2012 – the Corporal Jay Brief by Barcode Berlin.
Of course, there could be little doubt that this brief should be nominated as it bares MY name (Jay)!!
We kid, we kid.
It just so happens that this is an absolutely wonderful brief that we had the chance to try out a couple of weeks ago. As a brand, Barcode Berlin is very exciting European newcomer, but certainly one that has plenty to offer in terms of sassy designs and loads of cuts, including briefs, trunks, singlets, jockstraps, and so on.
Actually, the Corporal Jay Brief is one of Barcode Berlin’s more toned down undies. But we just can’t help but love the low-rise look, the distinctive piping, as well as the ribbed 95 % cotton / 5 % spandex fabric mix.
It’s comfortable to wear and seems durable – in terms of cut and fit, it certainly does hold up nicely after several washes.

Brief of the year 2012: Nominee #6 – Es Collection Modal Open Fly Brief

Brief of the year 2012: Nominee #5 – Teamm8 Block Brief

When we were first introduced to this updated version of Teamm8′s successful block brief it was through a bunch of super hot promotion pictures featuring French Foreign Legion recruit, Matt. The pictures underlined Teamm8′s ability to produce and promote beautiful men’s underwear and successfully persuaded us to include the brief in this year’s field of nominees.

Brief of the year 2012: Nominee #3 – 2(x)ist Military Sport Brief
May 4th, 2012Let’s take a look at our third nominee for the title of Brief of the Year 2012, the exquisite 2(x)ist Military Sport Brief.
We reviewed the 2(x)ist Military collection a few months ago here at GUB, and Val especially praised it for its superb fit. Another thing we love about the Military collection is the versatile look and design. You can wear these undies for all sorts of purposes. Wear them for everyday purposes or wear them for a night out, either way you’ll be looking hot and stylish. For these reasons the collection received a 5 star grade in our review.
Especially the Military Sport Brief took our breath away.
2(x)ist simply have perfected the construction of this, their signature brief design. The dimensions and composition of this brief are perfect. We tried the military green variant.
Here’s what Val said of the brief in his review,
The waistband has a metallic silver shiny band with three thin green lines in the color of the underwear. That band color compliments the green really well, completely highlighting the military look. The elastic band is about an inch and a half so it’s large but not too big. The front has a lined and contoured pouch which is a good size, neither too small nor overly large, so it provides support and comfort. The brief has a fully covered back made with one piece of material. The strip between your legs is not too thick, so as to cause bunching, but wide enough to keep you covered; about 2 and a half inches. The front pouch and back are connected at the front hip by a small bridge of fabric giving it 2(x)ist’s signature “sports” look. The underwear is trimmed by the same colored fabric with three rows of stitching in a darker, almost black, thread. They simply look and feel great!.

January 9th, 20116 great briefs were nominated for the prestigious title of Guys’ Underwear Blog’s Brief of the Year 2010.
More than 350 people have voted since Monday.
And now the results are in.
With a total of 39 % of all the votes, the official Brief of the Year 2010 is:
Congratulations! I can’t say I was that surprised, though. It’s an absolute perfect brief and the 2(x)ist team has been eager at getting their fans to vote.
In second and third place came the Aussiebum WJ Pro Brief (33 %) and the N2N Twilight Brief (11 %).
