Mario Lopez strips to his Rated M underwear on the Ellen Show
Unless you’ve been you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that faded Hollywood star, Mario Lopez, recently launched his very own range of men’s underwear, wittingly called Rated M.
Well, here at Guys’ Underwear Blog we are not sure what to think of Mr. Lopez’ underwear endeavors. The undies look a bit… old-fashioned.
But hey, props to him for making men’s underwear the talk of the town this past week. It’s clear that Mario Lopez sure knows how to market his new Rated M range.
A few days ago, Mario was a guest on the Ellen show and was “forced” to strip and show off his new underwear – to the obvious delight of the women in the audience.
You can watch the video clip below – it has already gone viral, attracting more than 380,000 views. You can also see a few pics of the new range below the clip.
Now all Mr. Lopez has to do is go back to his designers and teach them the words “low rise” – that should help bring sexy back to this range.

2(x)ist Tartan Line: An Xpress Review by Guys’ Underwear Blog
Do you remember that guy in high school who was good at everything – sports, tests, getting dates? Well, if that guy was a brand, he’d probably be 2(x)ist. They just seem to get everything right! This company, which was founded over 20 years ago, has built its reputation on creating attractive styles that fit well and feel comfortable. And the new Tartan Line is no exception.
The Tartan collection is available in trunks, briefs, long johns and Henley shirts. For this review I tried a pair of black trunks and black briefs. They’re made with a high-quality fabric that’s 90% cotton and 10% spandex. So they’re soft and provide just the right amount of stretch. Like all 2(x)ist underwear that I’ve worn, they include a pouch in the front for support and comfort.
The distinctive feature of the underwear is the woven plaid pattern (tartan) that appears on the waist band. This is a fun way to add some color and additional style to the line. The rest of the fabric comes in either solid black, white or red.
I don’t like over-using the same word, but have to say that both the trunks and the briefs are incredibly COMFORTABLE. The fabric feels great and the underwear fits just right…no itchy tag, no tightness in the crotch or leg openings, no bunching. The briefs are sexy while still offering the right amount of coverage on the backside. And the pouch in front makes your profile all the more impressive. The trunks are just as attractive and enjoyable to wear.
I’d describe the Tartan underwear as “Go To” underwear. They’re great for everyday wear, for working out and for being seen in. They also hold up perfectly in the wash.
| What | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Style and look? | Sophisticated with the right amount of sex appeal. |
| Suitable for? | Suitable for everything…working out, dates, everyday wear. |
| Fit and quality? | They fit great all around. Quality construction and material. |
| Is the price right? | At $18 for the briefs and $24 for the trunks, they’re well-priced. |
| Best thing about it? | Making you look and feel great. |
| Overall grade | ★★★★★ A perfect 5 star score. I honestly couldn’t find one flaw! |

Introducing 2wink Walkabout briefs and trunks
These are the months when Aussie underwear brands flourish!
One of our favorite Australian brands is 2wink. They recently released their brand new Walkabout collection.
Before we get to the sizzling pictures below, though, lets dwell by the name of this brand for a moment.
If you think the name is clever of spelling the word “twink”, then think again. In fact, 2wink Australia’s brand name was conceived from the concept to wink your eye (hence to wink). Combined with that the company produces Aussie made products the result is 2-wink Australia.
There you go. We feel more enlightened.
Now, the new Walkabout collection. It’s available as briefs and trunks and is made from 92 % cotton and 8 % spandex. The design is influenced by Australian Aboriginal culture and the term known as “Walkabout”.
In fact, the waistband is designed by Australian Aboriginal artist Peter Mulchay.
And here’s a real treat, buy your 2wink Walkabout undies over at www.2wink.com.au and you’ll get worldwide free shipping. The trunks are about $20 USD.
Enjoy the pictures below. They feature male underwear model Lee Stram and was shot by Paul Dedona Photography.

The underwear brands used for this shoot are not really in focus – I can’t tell what they are. So simply you must enjoy the pictures as a whole – which is fine, ’cause they are gorgeous!
Enjoy.

2(x)ist Military Collection: An Xpress Review by Guys’ Underwear Blog
By Valdamar
Hello all you underwear lovers out there. Today we’re taking a look at the latest and greatest from one of the world’s leaders in men’s underwear fashion. 2(x)ist has a style that takes from bright and flashy as seen in their neon collection to this hyper masculine look of the military series. 2(x)ist has a very diverse look yet always exhibits an amazing style and look and is and has been at the forefront of the underwear world for men. So I am always excited to get a chance to look at review underwear from 2(x)ist.
I love the Military collection from 2(x)ist. When you first hear the name you would expect to see a bunch of camouflage prints but that is not all you will find. 2(x)ist has taken their “military” look in a way that captures the utilitarian and brute look of soldiers. The material is 57% cotton, 37% modal, and 6% spandex. It’s fabricated into a smooth look that has an edge. If you look closely it’s patterned into a rugged feel in that it doesn’t have a silky smooth shimmer but a look imitating Army issued undies. Yet the material is as soft, supportively stretchy and comfortable as any high quality underwear. It does come in a green and a grey camouflage but also comes in white, black, grey and green. It comes as a sports brief, a no-show brief and a no-show trunk. You may also get a matching square neck tank.
I have a green Military Sports Brief and love it. It fits great, feels great and looks great. The waistband on the underwear has a metallic silver shiny band with three thin green lines in the color of the underwear. That band color compliments the green really well, completely highlighting the military look. The elastic band is about an inch and a half so it’s large but not too big. The front has a lined and contoured pouch which is a good size, neither too small nor overly large, so it provides support and comfort. The brief has a fully covered back made with one piece of material. The strip between your legs is not too thick, so as to cause bunching, but wide enough to keep you covered; about 2 and a half inches. The front pouch and back are connected at the front hip by a small bridge of fabric giving it 2(x)ist’s signature “sports” look. The underwear is trimmed by the same colored fabric with three rows of stitching in a darker, almost black, thread. They look and feel great!
I also have a matching green tank. It’s made out of the same material and and has the same great look. The front neck line has a squared “U” cut. The sides have three double stitched lines which go up and arch around and go straight down the back. The stitching as in the underwear is of a dark green. The lines remind me of a 50’s movie theatres neon sign. Its contouring lines go well with the look of the tank top. On the left shoulder strap there is a silver tag with green letters showing 2xists logo. It can be worn as undershirt or on its own as a tank top.
I wore both of these garments and they were very comfortable and looked really good. I had them on throughout my day’s activities and even throughout the night. Like all good underwear they were doing their job so well I never even really noticed they were there except when I took my clothes off and was pleasantly surprised to see my hot undies! I washed them and wore them again and they showed no signs of wear. The quality is great and these undies should last you a long time. Thank you 2xist for these amazing Military style undies.
| What | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Style and look? | The style and look of the Military collection is rugged, manly and sexy. They have managed to capture that masculine look and sexy roughness of a soldier. They have done this while keeping that classic 2(x)ist style. |
| Suitable for? | They are good for everyday use and wear while at the same time are great for showing off. The masculine style makes them a great pair to show off in the locker room at the gym. Guys need to show guys that they have them on! |
| Fit and quality? | The fit was perfect. 2(x)ist has been making underwear a long time now and know exactly how to make their underwear compliment your body. The quality is great with the trim being triple stitched. These undies could go into battle and last a soldier the whole time at war. Even if it were almost 10 years! |
| Is the price right? | The sports brief is $20 as is the no show brief, the trunk is $28 and the tank is also $28. That is not a bad price for a new piece of 2(x)ist undies. It’s about what you would expect to pay for a high quality name pair of underwear. |
| Best thing about it? | The best thing about the Military collection is that you get a great fit and useful pair of underwear that also look good enough to show off. You can wear these undies all day or for a special occasion such as to the GUB Grind. |
| Overall grade | ★★★★★ 2(x)ist scores a perfect 5 stars with the Military collection! I know Christmas has past but maybe this could be a great post-Christmas present to yourself. It’s a great way to spoil your nether regions! |

Modus Vivendi’s Festive Line: An Xpress Review by Guys’ Underwear Blog
Guys, we are so excited to introduce you to Jeff, the newest addition to the GUB team. Today Jeff will be reviewing the fun new Festive range by Greece’s number one men’s underwear brand, Modus Vivendi.
By Jeff
We all own many pair of underwear that we like because of the way they look or feel on us. After all, who doesn’t want to look good and feel comfortable? But there’s a certain niche that’s lacking from many of our wardrobes – a niche that combines comfort, sex appeal and a healthy dose of FUN. This is the niche that Modus Vivendi’s new Festive Line of briefs, boxer briefs/trunks and jockstraps successfully fills.
For those of you not familiar with Modus Vivendi…they are a Greek menswear company that focuses primarily on designing underwear.
Combining comfortable materials with low-rise styling and fun details, the Festive line is designed for the man who is confident enough to wear something bold and different. This isn’t your everyday underwear that will go unnoticed when someone sees you in them. Instead, it draws attention and adds levity.
For this line, Modus Vivendi used a velvety material that is a cotton/polyester blend. I tried three pair. The Rock Velvet Brief and Velvet Stars Brief are both 80% cotton / 20% Polyester. And the Bon Bon Mini Brief is 65% Cotton / 35% Polyester. The fabric is quite soft and comfortable. It’s also somewhat thicker than usual, so I wouldn’t recommend wearing them on a hot summer day or with tight jeans that can reveal underwear lines.
The Rock Velvet Brief has a gold stripe with pyramid-shaped studs going down the pouch, the Velvet Stars Brief has 5 stars of various sizes embroidered on the front, and the Bon Bon Mini Brief (available in fuchsia, orange and yellow) has bikini styling and a strip of elastic that runs vertically up the seat, showing the separation of the cheeks.
All three pair that I tried offer a sexy, low-rise cut and a pouch that provides ample support. I found them to be comfortable, soft to the touch and well made. And frankly, it was fun wearing them. So will I get much use out of them? I will definitely wear the two pair of briefs (I really want to go to a toga party and wear a pair of white Rock Velvet Briefs underneath!), but must admit that I need more of a bubble butt in order to look my best in the Bon Bon Mini Brief.
I would categorize the Festive line as either special occasion underwear to be worn on dates that you expect to turn fun or “mood improvement” underwear to be worn when you need to add some liveliness to your day. All in all, this is a welcome addition to my underwear drawer!
| What | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Style and look? | Fun and sexy. The line offers unique, fun details and low-rise styling. |
| Suitable for? | This underwear will get you noticed, so it’s not for the shy guy. Wear them on dates or when you want to add some levity to your mood. Because of the thicker material, they are not ideal for the hot summer months. Also, you may have visible underwear lines if you wear these with tight jeans. This could be a pro or a con depending on your style. |
| Fit and quality? | The quality materials and construction offer a comfortable fit with ample support. They run somewhat small, so you may want to buy one size larger if you’re between sizes. |
| Is the price right? | The collection ranges in price from around $25 for the Bon Bon Mini Brief to about $32 for the Velvet Stars Brief and $38 for the Rock Velvet Brief. They are on the expensive side, but offer unique details and fabric that you can’t find anywhere else. |
| Best thing about it? | The unique combination of fun and sex appeal. |
| Overall grade | ★★★★☆ Good job Modus Vivendi! The unique details combined with the comfortable fabric and fit make the Festive line a hit! |
