David Beckham has done it – created his own line of men’s underwear together with Swedish fashion retailer H&M.
Now, Christiano Ronaldo too will team up with a Scandinavian fashion maker to design his very own range of men’s underwear. Danish underwear maker JBS, is the lucky brand who snatched up the soccer star. If you don’t know JBS, you can read our bio on the brand here. Fun fact – the brand recently also launched a celebrity underwear range with tennis starlet, Caroline Wozniacki.
Is is just us, or does Ronaldo seem to do everything Beckham does? First, Beckham became an Armani underwear model. Not long after, Ronaldo too graced Armani underwear ads everywhere.
And now this.
We shall not complain. All we hope now is that fellow sports super star and Armani underwear model, Rafael Nadal, will make the same move into men’s underwear fashion.
Anyway, according to JBS, Ronaldo will be deeply involved in the design and production of the underwear range, which will include several types of undies and socks. The plan is that Ronaldo will release a new range every year.
We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us. Though we liked Beckham’s H&M undies, they never really rocked our world as much as we had hoped. For that, they were simply too mainstream.
We’ll let you guys know when we know more about the release date for the Ronaldo undies.
For now, we’ll have to suffice with what we’ve seen so far from the Portuguese soccer god.
So, we stumbled upon this video from fashion super brand Dolce & Gabbana…
It’s taken from their FW 2013 men’s fashion show which took place quite a while back. Somehow we missed it – probably because most of the show has nothing to with men’s underwear fashion.
However, if you skip directly to the 3:38 mark you’ll get peak at what these fashion gurus envision for men’s winter underwear wardrobe in 2013. And it’s special all right. Not sure it’ll catch on, but who knows…
Apparently, 2013 is supposed to be all about retro-styled, wild-west connoting high-waisted undies if these guys were in charge. One thing is for sure, though – it’s a fresh and different look, very unlike other designs we currently see out there.
Don’t expect these design ideas to go mainstream in this shape and form. It could be interesting, though, to see some type of distilled version of this kind of underwear, don’t you think?
It’s a new year, and with that come new exciting underwear brands.
Today we want to introduce you guys to one such brand. Meet Stonemen. The brand is based out of – you guessed it – Australia. Like most of our other favorite brands ;)
The brand is currently available in trunks and boxer briefs, but we here at GUB certainly hope that a regular brief cut will be introduced in the near future.
The small team art direct all images themselves by either shooting the image or commissioning an artist to fulfill the brief. All of the unique prints are inspired by natural landscapes, with images offering a sense of freedom with a retro twist. Best sellers include the Horses, Ducks and Red Sunset collections.
In December 2012, Stonemen launched their new NEW York and Cosmos ranges. Trunks start at around $39 AUD and you can buy the undies over at www.stonemen.com.
