This is a question that has been puzzling us for ages: How much money does the average man spend on underwear?

By now we know all about what kind of underwear and swimwear you guys wear, what size, what color, and who buys it for you.

Actually, a while back we did our own poll and asked you how much money you would spend on a pair of men’s underwear. More than 300 responded to the poll, and the results showed that the majority of you guys “only” would spend $20 or less on your undies.

We spend A LOT more, ha!

Well, now British men’s underwear store Urbanalpha.co.uk has compiled a very interesting infographic with loads of interesting underwear statistics.

And according this, on average, men spend only £1,200 on underwear – IN AN ENTIRE LIFETIME! That’s about $1,860 USD – or less than 100 pairs if you spend $20 per pair.

We’ll admit, we’re a bit shocked. Especially since the statistics show that women, on average, spend more than £20,000 on underwear in a lifetime – that’s more than $31,000 USD!

Other fun statistics compiled in the inforgraphic include

• A guy once wore 144 different pairs of underwear in 1 hour. That’s a world record we approve of!
• 29 % of Britons say they would be turned off sleeping with a new partner due to unsightly underwear

What’s the lesson here guys? Buy more stylish underwear and wash it often and properly. Chances are your romantic life will flourish because of it.
